Daily Mood Log

A simple daily mood chart for rating your mood, energy, and sleep side by side, noting the day's events and one gratitude, and spotting patterns over a week.

Why track your mood

Moods can feel random - good days and bad days arriving out of nowhere. When you rate your mood daily and note what happened, patterns start to surface: short nights that lead to irritable afternoons, certain people or tasks that reliably drain you, small habits that lift you. A daily log is also useful information to bring to therapy, or to watch how you respond to a new treatment or a life change. You're collecting evidence, not judging yourself.

How to use this log

Fill this out once a day, ideally around the same time each evening. Go with your first instinct on each rating - quick and honest beats slow and perfect. The whole thing should take about two minutes. One day tells you little; a week starts to tell a story. After seven days, use the reflection at the end to look back across your entries and see what moves your numbers.

What shaped today

Check anything that played a part in today's mood, for better or worse. Over the week, watch which items keep showing up next to your best and worst days.

What happened today

In a few lines, note the events that shaped the day - anything that lifted you, stressed you, or stuck with you.

One good thing

Name one thing from today you're grateful for, however small. On hard days, small counts double.

End-of-week reflection

After a week of entries, read back through them. What patterns do you notice between your sleep, your days, and your mood? What is one small thing you'll try next week based on what you see?
