Who Am I
An identity worksheet for moments when you feel like a stranger to yourself - map your roles, values, and strengths, then meet the person underneath them.
You are more than what you do
Ask most adults who they are and they will answer with what they do: a job title, a family role, the person everyone relies on. Roles matter, but they are not the whole of you - and when a role changes or ends, it can feel like you disappeared with it. Underneath your roles is a steadier layer: what you value, what you are good at, what has stayed true about you across every chapter of your life. This worksheet helps you look there.
When to use this
Identity questions get loud during transitions - a breakup, a move, a new diagnosis, retirement, graduation, becoming a parent, losing someone, leaving a faith or a career. They also surface quietly, as a flat feeling that your life belongs to someone else. Go slowly, and answer honestly rather than impressively. First drafts are allowed.
Your roles
List the roles that fill most of your week - at work, at home, with friends and family.
Strengths that feel like you
Check the words that people who know you well would use - not the ones you wish were true, the ones that already are.
I feel most like myself when…
Finish the sentence without overthinking it. The first answer is usually the honest one.
Something that has always been true of me…
Another sentence to finish: name something that has been true about you in every chapter of your life, since long before your current roles.
How much your life reflects you
Right now, how closely does your daily life match who you actually are - your values, your strengths, what matters to you?
Beyond your roles
Imagine your roles set aside for one day - no job title, nothing to manage, no one to look after. Who is left? Describe that person: what they notice, what they enjoy, what they care about.
Reflection
Read back through your answers. What surprised you? Name one small way you will honor who you are - beyond your roles - this week.
